NEW SCOTLAND — Marion Wright Raymond, a woman who spent her life caring for the people and world around her, died from heart failure on Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at Hospicare of Thompkins County. She was 93.

NEW SCOTLAND — Albany Therapeutic Riding Center has launched a fundraising drive to help with operational expenses including but not limited to: veterinary and farrier care, horse feed, equipment, lesson supplies, retired therapy horse care, and maintenance.

A new name for the pole barn — the General Frank McLaughlin Pavilion — keeps the builder's legacy alive.

Another new development is planned for New Scotland — a 22-lot subdivision off Route 85.

Construction will have a small section of Route 85A closed this weekend. It will close Saturday morning and reopen Sunday evening.

The public hearing was finally closed for a application for a kennel on Unionville-Feura Bush Road in New Scotland, after the board heard from people both in support of and against it.
