Petitions are due on April 17 for candidates seeking seats on Voorheesville school and library boards. Two incumbents have announced they are running — C. James Coffin for the school board and Janna Shillinglaw for the library board.

NEW SCOTLAND — William Z. Childs, 20, of Voorheesville, was arrested on March 19 for second-degree criminal trespass, a misdemeanor, according to a release from the New York State Police.

The Voorheesville Dionysians are producing a “Mary Poppins” musical that is, as director Robert Whiteman put it “entertaining on the surface” but rife with complex relationships to explore beneath.

Last Friday evening, March 10, Voorheesville Elementary held a Dance-a-thon at the High school to help raise funds for the new playground.
