Ten years after talks began, the town of New Scotland has adopted a new zoning law for the hamlet of New Scotland.

VOORHEESVILLE – The Voorheesville Board of Education, in its effort to encourage greater participation by female athletes in sports, at its May meeting approved creating a varsity indoor track team for boys and girls next year.

A community build date has been set for the new playground at Voorheesville Elementary School after it received approval from the state education department.

The Voorheesville lacrosse team fought hard in a non-league matchup at Schenectady High School Tuesday but lost, 13 to 12, in overtime.

Bureaucratic and vendor delays mean that the students of Voorheesville Elementary School may have to wait until next fall for a new playground.

A forum to discuss equity of opportunity in sports for Voorheesville female athletes was held Monday after parents raised concerns about fewer sports teams for girls.
