Lewis S. Ferrara

KNOX — Lewis S. Ferrara, a chef who loved the outdoors, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022. He was 73.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York on Feb. 24, 1948 to the late Philip and Anne (née Tartaglia) Ferrara.

A 15-year-old Berne-Knox-Westerlo student was arrested by the Albany County Sheriff’s office and charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony, although the office does not believe the student had access to firearms.

Bonnie Kane

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Board of Education appointed one of the high school’s English teachers, Bonnie Kane, as the secondary-school principal to replace outgoing principal Mark Pitterson at the end of the current school year.

The proclamation event featured an array of honored guests, including State Senator Michelle Hinchey and Albany County legislators Jeff Perlee and Chris Smith.

BERNE — Beth Davis has fulfilled a lifetime dream.

She was one of just eight school librarians from across the United States to serve on the William C. Morris Young Adult Debut Award Committee for 2022.

BERNE — Lewis “George” Wisler died on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2022, at his Berne home surrounded by his family. He was 64.
He was born on Dec. 11, 1957 to Lewis and Joan (née Kelly) Wisler in La Mesa, California.
