WESTERLO — Following the town board’s approval of the fire company’s annual contract, a councilman’s attempt to require more information from the company for future budget requests was met with contention and tabled.

KNOX — Irma Margarita Fox Garlock carved a life of self-reliance.

An independent woman who valued honesty, she didn’t let hardship mar her good humor and she was able to find and create beauty from everyday objects.

Mrs. Garlock died peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015. She was 98.

Meals are now available in the Hilltowns for seniors, starting March 2. Every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, a hot lunch will be available for seniors to enjoy.

On Feb. 21, our Boy Scout troop had a pancake breakfast to earn money for our Gettysburg trip. All the Scouts had jobs like taking orders, busing tables, and bringing food and drink out.

Over 70 people came to eat!

Marcia Pangburn's lawyer thinks she should have a jury in Berne, where she was arrested, but both town judges believe there may be an appearance of bias; a county judge will decide.

A set of shared services and consolidation plans have not realized the savings that were projected, leaving Berne-Knox-Westerlo School Board members hoping for additional savings and revenue for next year's budget.
