The Helderberg Hilltowns Association has a remedy for your wintertime blahs: pick-your-own blueberries, fresh tomatoes and basil, or handcrafted rustic bread. It’s CSA (community supported agriculture) season, a time to support local agriculture by buying a share in a farm’s food production.

WESTERLO — Jean Frances Britton was a resolute woman who took her family on camping trips with the same regularity and determination she used learning to negotiate the pedals of farm machinery and church organs.

BERNE — Thoroughly dedicated to his family, Donald Emil Moser was happy to come home from his travels and be at baseball games to watch his son.

Mr. Moser died on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. He was 80.

Mr. Moser was born in Schenectady on May 2, 1934, to the late Emil and Teresa Moser.

The Town of Rensselaerville Volunteer Ambulance Squad donated $42,000 to the town, saying it can do without the money in order to relieve taxpayers.

Elected leaders celebrated the purchase of more than 350 acres of land, to become a major addition to Berne's parks department, after the closing on Jan. 30.

WRIGHT — Agnes L. Gaige, who brightened every room with joy and laughter, died on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015 at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn in Albany, after a brief terminal illness. She was 84.

Mrs. Gaige was born on Sept. 1, 1930, in the Bronx, the daughter of Katherine (née Buckenberger) and Alfred Holt.

The town board will meet on Feb. 17 with the not-for-profit fire company, made up of volunteers, to discuss possible changes to their contract.

On Tuesday, Feb. 3, the Old Men of the Mountain met at the Chuck Wagon Diner in Princetown.
