Although elections are half-a-year away, two candidates have announced they are running for Knox town supervisor: Vasilios Lefkaditis, the current supervisor, and Amy Pokorny, a town councilwoman.

On May 2,  the Old Men of the Mountain met at the Your Way Café in Schoharie.

With the season winding down and the games becoming more important to make a push for a good seed in sectionals, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Bulldogs girls’ softball team and the Voorheesville boys’ baseball look to help their cause. The Bulldogs lost, 5 to 2, to Oppenheim-Ephratah-St.

BERNE — A 9-year-old Berne-Knox-Westerlo student has placed third in the annual Child Abuse Prevention Posters Contest.

The student, Sadie Poole, had drawn herself and her family to demonstrate the love a family has. The poster includes herself, her brother and sister, her parents, her dog Max, and her cat Pumpkin.

One of the five finalists for the city of Albany’s 69th Tulip Queen includes a 19-year-old resident of Medusa, Julianna Rauf. 

On Tuesday, April 25, the Old Men of the Mountain met at Mrs. K’s restaurant in Middleburgh.

Police call the girl who says she was sexually assaulted “very credible,” but the arrested man’s father has been loudly and publicly defending his son, identifying the girl by name, calling her crazy, and saying her story is not true.

Kimberly Lovell and Nathan Elble are incumbents. Helen Lounsbury, Martin Szinger, and Randy Bashwinger are challengers. Candidates were asked about the school budget, the capital project, and other issues facing the district in the coming school year.
