EAST BERNE — Dennis Michaels, a skilled carpenter and a longtime resident of East Berne, died peacefully in Albany on Sunday, May 25, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
He was the son of the late Daniel Sr. and Sophie Mach Michaels.
ST. ALBANS, Vt. — Howard Irving Brown of St. Albans, Vermont, formerly of Knox, died peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Franklin County Rehab Center, surrounded by family. He was 84.
Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s $24.7 million budget, with a 3.3 percent tax increase, passed with 70-percent approval from voters, who also re-elected incumbents Matthew Tedeschi and Rebecca Miller to the board of education.
