Dennis Michaels
EAST BERNE — Dennis Michaels, a skilled carpenter and a longtime resident of East Berne, died peacefully in Albany on Sunday, May 25, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
He was the son of the late Daniel Sr. and Sophie Mach Michaels.
“A talented carpenter, Dennis retired from the Local 370 carpenter union,” his family wrote in a tribute. “An avid camper and bike rider, Dennis enjoyed the outdoors and music.
“Dennis enjoyed time with his family.”
He is survived by his daughters, Christine Hayden and her husband, Geoffrey, and Denise Hoffman and her husband, Geoffrey, and by his grandchildren, Lindsey and Nicole Hayden, and Tegan Hoffman.
He is also survived by his brother, Daniel Michaels Jr. and his wife, Shirley, and a host of nieces and nephews.
His siblings Diane, Darlene, Douglas, Dean, and infant brother Donny, died before him.
Family and friends are invited to visit with his family in the Fredendall Funeral Home, at199 Main Street in Altamont on Thursday May 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Friday, May 30, at 10 a.m. with interment immediately following in Woodlawn Cemetery in Berne.
“A special thank-you to everyone who cared for Dennis at the Eddy Village Green, House 6 and the St. Peter's Hospice Inn,” his family wrote.
