GUILDERLAND — Barbara Fraterrigo, the board’s longest serving member, believes, “It’s nice to have an old hand on the board, someone who knows the history.”

GUILDERLAND — Karen Carpenter Palumbo, making her first run for the library board, has a wide and varied career in public service and management, which she believes will serve her well as a trustee.

GUILDERLAND — Currently the library board’s treasurer, Carroll Lynn Valachovic believes her financial expertise is an asset to the other trustees.

GUILDERLAND — “Libraries have always been very, very important to me,” said Carolyn Williams, who is making her first run for the board.

GUILDERLAND — Tuesday, May 20, is the statewide election day for public library and school budget votes.

Altamont will apply for $75,000 in grant funds provided through the state's Environmental Facilities Corporation's Green Innovation Grant Program.

Sometimes, change can be good.

After some tough losses this season, the Guilderland girls' lacrosse team has finally "found a way to go after it," Head Coach Carrie Britt said.  

“I think a lot of the opposition stems from people comparing this to a barnyard situation,” said Houser. “That’s not what this would be.”

Guilderland lost its title this year, to Latham, by a margin of three points.
