“Yield to white cane and guide-dog users” say the front of T-shirts worn by the visually impaired people staffing a table at the 30th Annual Traffic Awareness Weekend, held by Albany County. The backs of their shirts were more direct: “It’s the law,” they said. A yellow Labrador retriever, a guide dog, also served as an ambassador for the cause.

The leader in car-seat safety: Bill VanAlstyne, right, talks with a woman about how to properly install a safety seat for her little one. VanAlystne and his technicians travel around Albany County to make sure safety seats are properly installed. Last week, they held an inspection at Crossgates and, VanAlystne said, “Only four out of 124 were properly installed.”
