GUILDERLAND — “Dr. Robert Baldauf, transitioned home to a magnificent party and celebration of his life on Thursday, April 28, 2016,” his family wrote in a tribute.

After 12 weeks of renovations, Market 32 in Hamilton Square in Guilderland opens its doors on April 21.

GUILDERLAND — Incumbents Barbara Fraterrigo and Gloria Towle-Hilt are running again for the Guilderland School Board. They are joined by newcomer Teresa Gitto.

Colleen O’Connell is not seeking a fifth term.

The three-year terms on the nine-member board are at-large and unpaid.

ALTAMONT — Audrey Van Buren — wife, mother, and longtime Altamont resident — died on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Pathways Rehabilitation Center, after several years of declining health. She was 84.

Mrs. Van Buren, née MacFarland, was born in Rensselaer on March 15, 1932.

The town says the property at 7 Ayre Dr. in Guilderland, which was destroyed last January, could be an “attractive nuisance,” or a dangerous site.

Warren Redlich will get to have his day in court.

At its February 24 meeting, the Guilderland planning board heard an appeal by Michael Arduini, who wants to add a seasonal deck at the Across the Street Pub on Western Avenue.

Bruce Mance of Guilderland Mobil Service at 3903 Carman Rd. takes advantage of a sunny floor-to-ceiling window  in the family-owned automotive repair shop to start vegetables and spices from seeds each spring. 

Keenholts Park in Guilderland was among four Little League fields the Tri-City Valleycats, along with many volunteers, helped refurbish in 24 hours on April 14.
