GUILDERLAND — Athletes from Guilderland’s Pil Sung Taekwondo earned 16 medals at the 2017 Junior Olympic Games sponsored by the Amateur Athletic Union.

The AAU Junior Olympic Games is the largest amateur multi-sport event in the United States; 2017 marked the 51st AAU Junior Olympic Games.

A freshmen, Michael Henderson is one of four new members of the C-GCC men’s basketball team.

“Everybody thought I had a ton of daughters,” says Jean Conklin who is selling her Hungerford Market business. That’s because, in addition to her three daughters who worked at the shop known for its bagels, she treated staff like family.

Monarch butterflies were released at the Butterfly Station at Farnsworth Middle School for their migration to Mexico.

On Friday at Orchard Creek Golf Course, 144 golfers helped raise money for the Guilderland 2 sport Athletes for a scholarship.

Athletes from three countries and many states converged on the Capital Region this week to compete in the 2017 JCC Maccabi Games, an Olympic-style competition for Jewish teenagers ages 13 to 16.

GUILDERLAND — Stuyvesant Plaza merchants will bring their goods outdoors during the outdoor shopping center’s final sidewalk sale of the season on Saturday, Aug. 12.

The plaza will open at 9:30 a.m. to accommodate shoppers and will remain open until 6 p.m.

A second case prosecuted by the state’s Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs has been dismissed by a judge, this one involving a man who was accused of sexually abusing a disabled man in his care.
