For years, Alice Corcoran would not only open her Guilderland home to classes of young students that would visit from nearby Lynnwood Elementary School, but she would also give every student a teddy bear she knitted herself.

GUILDERLAND — Garry Robinson wants a bigger parking lot for his Ace hardware store at 1874 Western Ave. He plans to tear down the building next door that has been, over the years, an auto-parts shop, a jewelry store, a bicycle store, and a Dairy Queen.

Seniors poured into the Guilderland Public Library on Jan. 16 for “The Doctor Is In,” a new program launched by Albany County executive's office.

The Guilderville boys looked to show their swimming abilities against Shenendehowa High School on Friday afternoon in hopes of qualifying for states. The team is made up of athletes from Guilderland and Voorheesville and competed at home, in the Voorheesville pool.

Obstructions to Stewart’s Shops building a new shop at its Altamont location continue to fall by the wayside, as the company receives once-already approved rezone requests and, more recently, the lawsuit that had brought the project to a halt was dropped.

GUILDERLAND — The McKownville Fire District will hold its regular meetings for the year 2020 on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at 1250 Western Ave.

All meetings of the McKownville Fire District are open to the public.

GUILDERLAND — Local vendors, growers, and buyers are invited to attend the free Capital District Region Farm to Fork Local Food Expo on Wednesday, Jan. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. at Guilderland High School.
