University at Albany graduate students are working with the town of Guilderland without pay to chart the future of trails and parks in town but their many hours of work are being logged so that the town can use that information when applying for grants to bring the students’ recommendations to reality.

We must protect places that are seen as essential for the common good. In the past, we have urged individual municipalities to protect the Helderbergs with their zoning and planning processes. We now urge the county to take up that banner.

Two members of the Guilderland Y Cyclones swim team have qualified to move on to the YMCA Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina in April. 

Jay Tyler, director of Emergency Medical Operations for Guilderland, said that the bridge closure won’t affect response time for ambulance service in the town. “The public shouldn’t fear. We’re able to get to them from either the east or the west,” he said.

Sides include maple cornbread, sweet-potato casserole, and simmered greens. 

If the solar project were to be moved, Helios co-owner Michael Lossia would want to be sure that it would go through on the new site, he told The Enterprise.
