On Monday, June 20, at 2 p.m. come and experience the latest trend in relaxation, adult coloring books. Studies show coloring can have a calming effect on the adult mind and helps promote overall wellness. On Saturday, June 18, at 1 p.m.,  our newest book club will discuss cooking by the vegan book.    Every month, a cookbook will be selected and will be at the circulation desk for you to borrow or peak at and we'll print up a recipe of your choice. Sign up online and tell us which recipe you are making so we don't have duplicates. You can also register in the library at the circulation desk. Prepare your recipe, then bring it to the meeting to share with other participants. It's that simple.

Concert

On Saturday, June 4, at 11 a.m.,  join us for a monthly recipe swap  in the Community Room. This takes place the first  Saturday of each month.

Each swap features a new theme or ingredient. Swaps may include chocolate, local produce, soups, heirloom recipes, and many more. Participants are encouraged to bring their recipe with an optional prepared sample of their dish to share with the group.

Meet the author

On Saturday, May 21, at 10:30 a.m., come to the library and meet the author Anita Sanchez of “In Praise of Poison Ivy.”  This book follows the trail of poison ivy as it encounters an engaging cast of historical characters, including explorers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and royalty.  The book includes informational sidebars on identifying poison ivy, how to cope with that insanely itchy rash, and “green” methods of coping with the plant.  Registration is required.  Books will be available from the author.

On  Saturday, May 14. From 10:30 a.m. to noon, join us for Gardening 101 with  Schoharie County master gardener volunteers. They will offer a vegetable gardening class at the library.   We'll discuss when to start your seeds, where to site your garden, how to plant and maintain your garden, transplants,  mulching, weeding,  and more.  Attendees will receive some free vegetable seeds.  Registration is requested.

Discovery Wednesdays

Come watch a preschool film, "Stellaluna" (rated G, 41 minutes), on March 30 at 11 a.m. When the adorable fruit bat Stellaluna is separated from her mother, she is adopted by a family of birds, but soon finds that she just can't fit in. Sushi Workshop for Homeschoolers

Come learn how to make vegetarian Maki sushi on March 31 at 1 p.m. This program will consist of learning how to hand roll a sushi roll, the proper technique of using chopsticks, and having lots of fun.

This program is suitable for homeschooled children ages 6 and up.  Young children may need the help of a parent or caregiver. Younger sibling helpers are welcome.  Registration is required.  Please note: This program is a rescheduled program from February.
