Story time
On Tuesday, Sept. 3, come to the library for drop-in story time at 10:45 a.m. Get ready to move in this interactive story time designed especially for children up to age 5 and their caregivers. We'll read books, sing songs, recite fingerplays, dance and watch a short movie based on a weekly theme. No registration is required.
Knitting Circle
On Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. the ladies (men are welcome, but we have not seen any yet!) knit and crochet, embroider and quilt, and more. You can learn a new skill here, share your own special talents with others, or just craft in the company of friends. Drop in anytime. No registration is required.

On Monday, Sept. 9, at 7 p.m. the library board of trustees meets. This meeting is open to the public.

This program is facilitated by Debra Krol and involves repetitive movements with the breath, building strength, toning the nerves and clearing the adrenal glands. Wear comfortable clothing and bring 2 blankets or a mat and blanket. A $5 donation is requested. Use the back entrance when entering the building.
Concert
On Aug. 21, at 7 p.m. join us for a concert with the group Magpie and their songs of and for the Earth. They are songwriters and performers of our era. Tickets are available at the door. A $10 donation is suggested.

On Aug. 9, at 5:30 p.m., the Middleburgh Library is showing The Hobbit rated PG-13. We’ll uncover one of the greatest stories ever written as we watch the movie The Hobbit. The library will provide pizza and drinks and you bring a dessert to share. Something Middle Earth related perhaps? This program is part of our Beneath the Surface Teen Summer Reading Program. For kids going into grades 6 and up. Registration is required.
NBT Bank
On Aug. 12, at 6 p.m., the library will have a program by NBT Bank on financial literacy for teens in the community room.
Family film
On Aug. 13, at 6:45 p.m., the library will show The Pirates Band of Misfits rated PG. After years of humiliation and failed attempts to win the Pirate of the Year Award, Pirate Captain and his oddball crew go on a race to pillage the most booty. No registration is necessary and the popcorn is free.
Silent library
On Aug. 14, at 1 p.m., we'll be playing our version of MTV's Silent Library. You'll have to complete bizarre tasks while remaining completely silent, you are in the library after all! This program is part of our Beneath the Surface Summer Reading Program. For kids going into sixth grade and up. Registration is required.
Teen matinee
On Aug. 15, at 1 p.m., join us at the library for Jack the Giant Slayer rated PG-13. Sent to the market by his uncle to sell their horse and buy thatch for their roof, Jack meets the beautiful Princess Isabelle whom he rescues from ruffians. He returns home only with a handful of beans given to him by a monk who claimed they were sacred but that does little to impress his uncle who tosses them away. Soon the beans take root with a giant stalk carrying away the princess and Jack's house. He soon sets off on an adventure with the king's guards to rescue the princess only to find that a mythical land filled with giants really exists. No registration is required.

On Aug. 6, at 6:45 p.m., come to the library and enjoy Hiccup a Viking teenager who aspires to hunt dragons, but doesn't exactly fit in with his tribe's longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. His world gets turned upside down when he encounters a dragon that challenges him and his fellow Vikings to see the world from an entirely different point of view. Tea party
On Aug. 8, at 1 p.m., the library invites you to the Mother/Daughter American Girl Tea Party. Step back in time as we dig into the world of American Girl, Samantha Parkington. Bring your dolls (It does not have to be an America Girl Doll!) and your mom to the library where we'll talk about what it was like to be a girl in 1904. You'll make a Victorian craft and a calling card to bring to the Best House where we'll have our tea party. Girls and Moms will meet Mrs. Best, enjoy lemonade and cookies and have a personal tour of the house. Each girl will go home with a goodie bag. This program is part of our Dig into Reading Summer Reading Program and is open to girls going into grades 2 through 6. Registration is required.

On July 29, at 2 p.m. the Lego’s are back at the Middleburgh Library, and we're getting ready to create and build. Use your imagination to create a creature of your choosing that you think would live underground. This program is part of our Dig into Reading Summer Reading Program for kids going into kindergarten through grade 5. Registration is required.

Movie time
On July 30, at 6:45 p.m. come with your whole family to watch James and the Giant Peach. This film is rated PG. James hopes a magical peach will help him escape his horrible aunts. Registration is not required. There will be free popcorn!
Ghost hunting
On July 31, at 7 p.m. we will learn about the basics of paranormal investigation! Members of the Tri-City Paranormal Society will be here with a special program for teens. Learn what kind of equipment is used and hear and see evidence of ghost hauntings. This program is part of our Beneath the Surface Teen Summer Reading Program. This is for kids going into grades 6 and up. Registration is required.
Treasure hunt
On July 31, at 1 p.m. We will be discussing The Water Castle by Megan Frazer Blakemore and have a treasure hunt. In this book, science feels magical, and magic feels possible. We'll talk about the book and attempt to unearth the clues to find the fabled Fountain of Youth! For those of you who would like to read the book before coming to the program, pick up a copy at the circulation desk. This program is part of our Dig into Reading Summer Reading Program and is for kids going into grade 4 and up. Registration is required.
Flower fairy garden party
On Aug. 1, at 1 p.m. we will make a garden fairy doll and a house to put her in, listen to a story and nibble some fairy sized treats. Come to this party dressed in your fairy finest. Middleburgh

On June 11, at 3:30 p.m., Indy is at the Middleburgh Library as a reading buddy to your child. Registered therapy dogs are excellent listeners. Bring your reader to the library to read to our therapy dog, Indy and his person, Karen VanDyke. Indy is non-judgmental and will give kids confidence while reading. No registration is necessary.
Kundalini Yoga
On June 12, from 5 to 6:15 p.m., Kundalini Yoga, “The yoga of awareness,” opens your heart, builds strength and releases the energy located at the base of your spine.
