GUILDERLAND — There are more than nine months to go before the next town election, and speculation is already running high in Guilderland.

Supervisor Kenneth Runion, a Democrat, is currently serving his eighth two-year term, and there have been rumblings that he will not be running again.

"There is a lot of love in our houses," Living Resources Executive Director Fred Erlich told the Guilderland Town Board of the not-for-profit's group homes.

GUILDERLAND — An armed robbery at a convenience store in Guilderland is under investigation and a suspect has not yet been arrested.

GUILDERLAND — A “road rage incident” involving a woman’s attempted forced entry to a school bus ended in her arrest on Monday morning, police say.

GUILDERLAND — A large quantity of heroin was found packaged for sale in a vehicle that was stopped on Route 155 early Saturday morning, police say.

“I knew he drank too much and was going way too fast," said a passenger in a car that flipped on New Year's Eve, according to the police report. " I kept telling him to slow down but he just kept going faster."

GUILDERLAND — A Guilderland native is showing his first independent film project, The CulDeSack Kids, inspired by growing up in suburban New York in the 1990s, to audiences at the Guilderland Public Library.

GUILDERLAND — People who may not have access to personal transportation will now be able to visit the Albany Pine Bush Preserve.

“It was the first place I used a computer, it was a social place...and it was an educational place,” said Joseph Burke, new director of the Altamont free Library. “I still remember the joy of discovering something new, something I’d overlooked before.”

“It is always good when we approve a contract before the end of the year,” Supervisor Kenneth Runion said, "because then we don’t have to do anything retroactively.” He also said some of the changes would result in cost benefits to the town.
