Xtra-Mart robber is on the loose

GUILDERLAND — An armed robbery at a convenience store in Guilderland is under investigation and a suspect has not yet been arrested.

At 7:58 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, a man entered the Xtra-Mart Convenience Store, at 3903 Carman Road, and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun to the clerk, according to a release from the Guilderland Police Department.

The man demanded cash, and then fled on foot, in an unknown direction, with a sum of cash and cigarettes.

The suspect is described as male; approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall; between 170 and 180 pounds; wearing a black ski mask; horizontally-striped teal and gray hooded sweatshirt; dark jeans; and gloves, the release said.
