Dennis Michaels

EAST BERNE — Dennis Michaels, a skilled carpenter and a longtime resident of East Berne, died peacefully in Albany on Sunday, May 25, 2025, with his loving family by his side.

He was the son of the late Daniel Sr. and Sophie Mach Michaels. 

Dorothy Bremer Kohler

VOORHEESVILLE — Dorothy Bremer Kohler, a longtime resident of Voorheesville and devoted member of the New Scotland Presbyterian Church, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at St. Peter’s Hospital, surrounded by loved ones. She was 95.

VOORHEESVILLE — Phyllis Talbot, who was known for her sense of style and love of animals, died peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief stay. She was 92.

ST. ALBANS, Vt. — Howard Irving Brown of St. Albans, Vermont, formerly of Knox, died peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Franklin County Rehab Center, surrounded by family. He was 84.

GUILDERLAND — Phyllis Rosenblum lived in harmony with nature, blending the practical with the beautiful in her spacious yard, and sharing her love of gardening with others.

She died on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the age of 80.

Steven W. Rapp

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Steven W. Rapp, known to many as Steve, died on Monday, May 5, 2025, just shy of his 68th birthday in Carlsbad, California.

Born on May 20, 1957, in Catskill, New York, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph W. Rapp of Berne and Patricia Rapp Neal, and stepson to the late John Neal of Voorheesville. 

Thomas Perras

MELROSE — Thomas Perras, who had a career at Knolls Atomic Power Lab, enjoyed outdoor activities and rooted for the Mets. 

He died suddenly on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at his River Road home in Melrose, Rensselaer County. He was 67. Death was attributed to natural causes.

VOORHEESVILLE — Sandra Nietsche Flansburg, who had a career with the state police and was best friends with her husband, died on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at St. Peter's Hospital Hospice. She was 88.

 She died on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Brightview Senior Living in Warren, New Jersey. She was 86.
