Phyllis Talbot
VOORHEESVILLE — Phyllis Talbot, who was known for her sense of style and love of animals, died peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief stay. She was 92.
She was born on July 16, 1932 to Jarvey and Esther Willsie in East Berne and graduated from Berne Knox High School in 1950 as salutatorian of her class.
“She attended Spencer Business Institute for secretarial studies,” her family wrote in a tribute, “and immediately secured a job with the New York State Comptroller’s Office where she met the love of her life, Thomas Talbot, to whom she was married to for 56 years.
“She was happiest when she and Tom would attend weekly Mass at St. Matthew’s Church and then enjoy dinner at their favorite restaurant. They enjoyed traveling to Lake George, Lake Placid, and the Caribbean.
“Phyllis loved animals and was particularly fond of her squirrels, which she fed Ritz crackers on her deck. While living in Voorheesville, she walked every day to her local store and beyond.
“She was known for her sense of style, always perfectly groomed and her hair would be done on a weekly basis no matter what! She most recently resided at Peregrine Delmar Place where she enjoyed bingo, Sunday Mass, and her window birdfeeder along with the music and the pet therapy animals.”
