County launches program to help people released from jail find jobs

ALBANY COUNTY — The county has launched a partnership with the Capital Region Workforce Development Board to provide support and job readiness training to people released from Albany’s jail as well as clients of the Sheriff’s Homeless Improvement Program, known as SHIP, which is housed at the jail.

First Sergeant Thomas Funk of the Guilderland Police on Tuesday identified the man as village resident Fred Kuntzsch.

Drug charge follows fatal crash

BETHLEHEM — A woman has been charged with driving while impaired by drugs after she drove over double yellow center lines and crashed into another car, killing that driver, according to Bethlehem Police.

Police responded to the two-car crash near 1463 River Road in Selkirk at about 5:20 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.
