Librarians from halfway around the world have come to the Capital Region to learn from their American counterparts.

Less than half of third- through eighth-grade students statewide passed the annual math and English tests administered by the state. In Voorheesville, that number was closer to 75 percent, the highest proficiency rate in the Capital Region; the district also had one of the largest percentages of students not taking the required tests.

GUILDERLAND — Rhondasia Jackson, 17, stabbed two 15-year-old girls with a knife, police say, after they struggled to get back belongings she had taken from one of them.

The struggle ensued on Saturday, Sept. 29, at about 4:15 p.m. at Crossgates Mall, according to a release from the Guilderland Police.

Training began for nine members of Helderberg Ambulance to act as “vitalists” and conduct medical exams for homebound patients, who will also be communicating with a physician over a video feed.
