RENSSELAERVILLE — Eighteen journalists make up the seventh class of fellows at the Carey Institute for Global Good’s Logan Nonfiction Program this fall. Set to arrive on Oct. 15, the fellows will work on critical long-form investigative articles, books, and documentary films.

On Saturday, residents in the weatherfield community in Guilderland held a block party for the school tax reduction they received since living in Guilderland but pay Voorheesville school taxes. 

The annual gala for the Voorheesville Community and School Foundation was held last Saturday at the Indian Ladder Farms Cidery and brewery.

Last weekend at the Altamont Fairgrounds in Altamont, crowds came to the annual Apple and Wine Festival to taste local wines from the area along with little knick knacks from vendors.

NEW SCOTLAND — Route 157 near the Thacher Park Visitor Center and the Paint Mine Picnic Area in New Scotland will be closed from Sept. 10 until Nov. 27 as the New York State Department of Transportation replaces two culverts under the state road.
