To the Editor:

Every year, our village offers the wonderful service of picking up residents’ leaves, grass clippings, and brush.

To the Editor:

The New Salem Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary is having its Seventh Annual Teddy Bear Tea with Mrs. Claus for boys and girls on Sunday, Dec. 14, with seating at 1 p.m. at the New Salem Fire Station, 694 New Salem Road in New Scotland.

To The Editor:

Thank you for reporting the most recent details on the story about my son, Adam Rappaport.  We have been looking, and waiting, for answers about his final days, and appreciate that you were able to offer some clarity about his time "in reception" at the Albany County jail.

To the Editor:

I’m upset and angry and so are other people about the Game Farm Road property purchase.

Kevin, I’ve lost faith in you. The people elected you. The people voted you into office. Couldn’t you have included the people before buying the Game Farm Road property?

Tuesday, Nov. 4, was a busy day for this scribe. The Old Men of the Mountain met at the Middleburgh Diner in Middleburgh, and the OFs had a guest who interviewed some of them as part of her college assignment. Who knows what stories were related and the guest, for the most part, was like the proverbial fly on the wall.

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Voorheesville Blackbirds Football program and their families, I would like to thank everyone for their support of the team this year.  Time and time again our community has come forward with donations, cheers, kind words, and enthusiasm.

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the voters of Berne for their support in the election last Tuesday. One thing campaigning affords a candidate is the opportunity to walk up to people's homes and talk with them, answer their questions, and listen to their concerns.

To the Editor:

Our most sincere thanks to the Altamont Veterans of Foreign Wars Post for hosting the memorial and arranging the military honor guard held in honor of our beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather Edward Paul Cowley.

To the Editor:

Sitting in my college dorm, 250 miles from home, I am astonished (then again, not really) to see our little town of Knox is (yet again) raising the already high taxes, a whopping 3.14 percent, on its citizens.

To the Editor:

The members of the Boyd Hilton Ladies’ Auxiliary would like to say thank-you to all who, once again, make our Chicken ’n’ Biscuit Dinner a success.

To the Editor:

Last week, all of the property owners in the Guilderland School District received their tax-freeze rebate checks.  Ours was a big whopping $56 and was a “reward” for the school board staying under the 2-percent tax cap.  But it got us thinking, what is the cost of this check?

To the Editor:

This November, many families in Albany area are thankful for something special: the gift of their friendship with a New York City child.
