To the Editor:

I attended the meeting at Guilderland High School regarding the use of buildings in the district.  I was troubled by a comment made by Mr. Seversky.

More than once, he mentioned that the middle-school building was our greatest asset.  I strongly disagree with this.

To the Editor:

Every day, we loose a precious, irreplaceable resource: the knowledge of the previous generation, much of it learned in the school of hard knocks.

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Voorheesville Blackbirds football team and Voorheesville Football Boosters, we wish to express our sincere gratitude to the entire community for all of your support in our special uniform fund-raising drive.

BERNE — The Berne Historical Society is hosting a presentation highlighting "The Berne Conservation Club — 50 Years of History.”

Our meeting night for the event is Monday, June 23, at 7 p.m. in the Berne Public Library Community Room.

To the Editor:

I was recently a candidate for the Berne Town Board and have long been a supporter of the Republican Party locally. Generally, the town of Berne has been controlled by elected officials supported by the Democratic party and without major controversy.

To the Editor:

I wish the majority party in control of the Albany County Legislature would put as much effort into reducing taxes and helping our community as it does in its efforts to increase political power.

To the Editor:

It was just 50 years ago that my wife, Morag, and I moved to the Altamont area, and we lived and enjoyed our life there until 2010.  One of the great things about living there was our own library, which offered so much to our family.

To the Editor:

The Hannacroix Rural Cemetery which is located on Route 411 in the hamlet of  Dormansville in the town of Westerlo is seeking donations for the 2014 mowing expense for the cemetery.

Special thanks to those who have already contributed.

To the Editor:

A survey was recently mailed to each household in the town of Knox.  Its purpose is to help set priorities for the future as the town updates its comprehensive plan.

We strongly encourage all Knox residents to participate in this survey.

To the Editor:

Most politicians at the national level realize that you don't tamper with Social Security, Medicare, and the Post Office. And another advisory for Guilderland politicians to observe: You don't mess with newly elected Guilderland Town Clerk, Jean Jarrett Cataldo.

To the Editor:

This Father’s Day, we celebrate all the men in our lives and many men in the Albany area who take on the role of Fresh Air father, as they open their hearts to New York City children through the Fresh Air Fund’s Volunteer Host Family Program.

To the Editor:

I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to our Guilderland residents who have used the town website to access the minutes of our board meetings.

I strive to make the minutes as informative as possible.  I’ve included almost verbatim the remarks made at public hearings.
