To the Editor:

Recently, a local television station published an opinion segment critical of the money that the Guilderland Public Library spends to inform the citizens we serve about the library’s programs, services, and collections.

To the Editor:

On May 3, the Boyd Hilton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and its ladies’ auxiliary celebrated their 24th year of their annual Loyalty Day program.

This program honors the loyalty of those who serve our country and those who serve our veterans and community.

To the Editor:

I’m writing in response to the May 8 Old Men of the Mountain column, “Mindless mandates have killed many small farms.”

First, there was no mandate requiring bulk tanks or restricting the use of strainers.  No matter what we were shipping milk in, we always had to use strainers.

To the Editor:

To benefit the Albany Therapeutic Riding Center, we are selling tickets to the Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom for only $25 per ticket for a full day of unlimited rides, shows, games, and incredible attractions.

To the Editor:

Fellow patriots, I would like to remind you all that this Sunday, May 18, at the town park in Berne, the New York Revolution Capital District will be presenting a Constitutional Awareness and Voter Registration Forum.

The snow banks are gone. The mud has all but disappeared and the grass is turning green but for the Knox Nursery School kids the most exciting part of all of this is that they can now play on all of the playground equipment!

To the Editor:

Link up with the Berne Library before you head outdoors to the golf links!

The Friends of the Berne Library invite you to improve your handicap on nine holes of mini-golf in the Berne Library on Saturday, May 17; tee time is from 4 to 8 p.m.

To the Editor:

I am writing to you concerning your remarks about Tim Lippert. [The May 15, 2014 editorial, “Minding multiple roles is a public servant’s duty,” is online at www.AltamontEnterprise.com.]

To the Editor:

The village of Altamont and the Altamont Farmers’ Market is seeking farmers and vendors for the 2014 upcoming season.  Come give us a try!

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to applaud Vasilios Lefkaditis for his community service. He is a man who cares about our community, our school, and all of our children.

To the Editor:

We would like to say thanks to everyone who supported our Easter program. We were able to provide Easter dinner for over 40 families in our community.

We were also able to give each child a basket from the Easter Bunny.

We are so grateful for the generosity of those who support our mission

To the Editor:

Our father, Ed Stumpf, died on April 22, 2014. He worked for 35 years as an insurance adjuster; was a husband, father, and grandfather; but above all he was a Westmere fireman. He was a lifelong resident of Westmere after serving in World War II.
