To the Editor:

Hitmans Roadside Service, a thriving Knox business owned by Kristen Reynders, has been cited for operating illegally in the town of Knox, and she is scheduled to appear in town court in March.

To the Editor:

This is an open letter to the Knox Town Board.

To the Editor:

With a real old-fashioned Northeast winter, Ken Weaver and the Berne full- and part-time highway workers deserve our thanks!

To the Editor:

Nursing-home needs are secondary to political needs.

It is a straightforward matter made difficult and controversial by politicians.

To the Editor:

At the upcoming Berne-Knox-Westerlo Board of Education meeting on Feb. 24, Interim Superintendent Lonnie Palmer will be presenting his options for the school district’s 2014-15 budget.

To the Editor:

Sochi Russia has nothing on Altamont, N.Y., when it comes to celebrating a very special event.

The Altamont library gala was just that.

Thank you, so much, to all, for making it happen.

To the Editor:

I feel I can speak for myself and Kristen Reynders (owner of Hitmans Towing) when I say thank you to all who showed up at the Feb. 11 Knox Town Board meeting on her behalf.  Thanks to those of you who spoke in support of Hitmans and businesses in Knox.

To the Editor:

We appreciate all Ken Fortuin has done over the years as a friend and a top-notch builder, to help us and so many other people in the Hilltowns realize dreams for our homes and other projects.

ALTAMONT — The new exhibition, “Ingenious Minds: Early Altamont Inventors,” will open in the Hallway Gallery on Sunday, Feb. 16, with a reception running from 3 to 5 p.m.   All are welcome to the opening’s catered reception in the village courtroom.

To the Editor:

I am writing to congratulate the Altamont Free Library for once again providing a wonderful evening at the annual I Love My Library gala.  It was great to see so many people come out to enjoy the food, fun, and friendship, especially during this long cold winter.

To the Editor:

I often say to myself and others that we need to notice and commend our young people when they go the extra mile to help others.  Quite honestly, we certainly notice and talk about negative behavior enough.  So with that in mind, I decided to put my thoughts into action.

To the Editor:

A grassroots effort is underway to provide the residents and taxpayers in the Town of Rensselaerville with a newsletter after more than a year since the town board abolished the original, official monthly newsletter.
