Join the BKW board for its budget discussion

To the Editor:

At the upcoming Berne-Knox-Westerlo Board of Education meeting on Feb. 24, Interim Superintendent Lonnie Palmer will be presenting his options for the school district’s 2014-15 budget.

We would like to solicit ideas and recommendations from parents, students, and community members and encourage all of you to attend, share, and openly participate in our discussion of the 2014-15 BKW school budget.

There will also be a presentation on the new veterans’ school tax exemption and its potential impact to taxpayers in our community.  The Feb. 24 meeting will serve as a public hearing on this topic.

Please join us on Monday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. in the secondary-school auditorium for both of these very important conversations.  Thank you.
