On Sunday, Nov. 2, the third seeded Guilderland battled top seeded Bethlehem for the Section 2, Class A championship at Schuylerville High School. The Dutch, the reigning champs, pressured to knock in a goal but the Eagles’ defense stood tall as Bethlehem edged out the Dutch 1-0.

On Saturday, Nov. 1, the sixth-seeded Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg soccer squad was on the pitch against top-seeded Maple Hill in the Section 2, Class C sectional final. The Beagles tried to break through the tough Wildcats defense but couldn’t as they fell 2-0.

On Saturday, Nov. 1, the second-seeded Bethlehem boys’ soccer squad took to the pitch at Queensbury High School playing against top-seeded Columbia in the finals of the Section 2, Class AA.

On Friday, Oct. 31, the fifth-seeded Voorheesville girls’ volleyball traveled to the fourth-seeded Maple Hill in the quarterfinals of the Section 2, Class C sectional tournament at Maple Hill High School. The Blackbirds fell in straight sets; 11-25, 19-25, 23-25.

Last Thursday, Oct. 30, the fourth-seeded Guilderland Dutchmen battled third-seeded Shenendehowa for the Section 2, Class AAA title at Bethlehem High School on a windy and rainy evening. The Dutch yielded the first goal but battled in the second half to tie it up at 1.

Last Wednesday, Oct. 29, the third-seeded Voorheesville Blackbirds took on second-seeded Schuylerville in the Section 2, Class B semifinals at Niskayuna High School. The Black Horses finally beat the Blackbirds’ defense and the Blackbirds fell 1-0.

On Tuesday, Oct. 28, the Bethlehem field hockey team, the top seed in Class A, looked to battle for the second participant in Sunday’s final at Schuylerville High School. The Eagles got the scoring going in the first quarter and added three goals in the fourth quarter to win 4 to 0.

On Monday, Oct. 27, Guilderland and Bethlehem girls’ tennis players battled against some of the state's best singles and double squads over a three-day event at the Chase Center on the grounds of the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Flushing.

On Monday, Oct. 27, the sixth-seeded Berne-Knox-Westerlo/Duanesburg boys’ soccer squad traveled to third-seeded Cairo-Durham to play in their Section 2, Class C quarterfinal matchup to see who will play the second-seed Greenwich on Wednesday.

On Friday, Oct. 24, the Voorheesville girls’ tennis team took to the road to Drumlin Country Club to take on Section III’s Oneida. The Blackbirds fell, 5 to 0.
