Last Thursday, Jan. 22, the Guilderland bowling team travelled to Spare Time Clifton Park to take on Shenendehowa. The Dutch started strong but the pins didn’t fall for them after the first game. They lost 24.5-7.5 (3881-3537 in total pins).

On Tuesday, Jan. 20, the Bethlehem boys’ swimming team took on Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at Bethlehem High School. The Eagles won 101-74.

On Saturday, Jan. 17, the Guilderland Indoor Track squad competed against some of the best in the Jack Reed High School Showcase at the Golisano Training Center on the campus of Nazareth University near Rochester.

On Friday, Jan. 16, the Voorheesville girls’ basketball team hosted a Colonial Council matchup against Schalmont. The Birds started quickly in the first half but the Sabres stormed back in the second half to beat the Birds, 55-51.

Last Thursday, Jan.15, the Bethlehem girls’ bowling squad took to the lanes as they took on Niskayuna at Del Lanes. The Eagles fell, 19-9 (2318-2244 in total pins).

On Sunday, Jan. 11, the Bethlehem indoor track team competed against other Section 2 teams in the Ed Cepiel Invitational at Springfield College. The boys finished 20th with 11 points and the girls finished eighth with 37 points.

On Friday, Jan. 9, the Bethlehem ice hockey team took to the ice at the Bethlehem YMCA in Delmar as they took on Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake-Ballston Spa. The Eagles battled tough in the first period but then couldn’t muster much in the offensive zone as they fell 5-2.

Last Thursday, Jan. 8, the Voorheesville boys’ volleyball team hosted Taconic Hills in a Class C matchup. The Birds dominated in the first two sets then eased off but won in straight sets; 25-7, 25-9, 25-18.

Last Wednesday, Jan. 7, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo bowling squad hosted Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville at Town n’ Country in Guilderland. The three bowlers battled but fell 4-0 (2596-1459 in total pins).

On Tuesday, Jan. 6, the Guilderland boys’ basketball squad hosted the Spartans of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake at Guilderland High School. After a slow start, Guilderland sailed to an 83-to-58 win.
