GUILDERLAND — Rhondasia Jackson, 17, stabbed two 15-year-old girls with a knife, police say, after they struggled to get back belongings she had taken from one of them.

The struggle ensued on Saturday, Sept. 29, at about 4:15 p.m. at Crossgates Mall, according to a release from the Guilderland Police.

District Superintendent Marie Wiles hesitated to say if three times in a week was a lot. “They happen when they happen,” she said.

Sara Kenney’s charge for driving under the influence of drugs is a felony because she has a conviction under Leandra’s Law.

ALTAMONT — Hundreds of Scouts and adult Scout leaders will converge at the Altamont fairgrounds on Saturday, Sept. 29, for the Twin Rivers Council Fall Camporee.

GUILDERLAND — A new citizens’ group is concerned about the number of apartment complexes currently proposed in Guilderland, which would add more than 1,200 units.

Catherine Ricchetti offers training sessions, which are “raved over,” for professionals across the state on how they can start their own service-dog programs, said a spokeswoman for the organization that honored her.

This week — Sept. 22 to Sept. 28 — marks National Falls Prevention Week. It corresponds with the start of the fall season.

On Saturday, residents in the weatherfield community in Guilderland held a block party for the school tax reduction they received since living in Guilderland but pay Voorheesville school taxes. 

Last weekend at the Altamont Fairgrounds in Altamont, crowds came to the annual Apple and Wine Festival to taste local wines from the area along with little knick knacks from vendors.
