GUILDERLAND — Brendan Barrow will perform Sammy Nestico’s “Persuasion” as a saxophone soloist at the Guilderland Town Band’s final concert. He chose to play Persuasion because it reflects Nestico’s  jazzy style, but shows off the more classical tone of playing the saxophone, which he prefers.

After driving erratically while high, Nicholas Helton, 34, pleaded guilty to driving while ability impaired by drugs, according to a release from the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

He made the plea before Judge Peter A. Lynch in Albany County Court on July 20.

ALTAMONT — As the Altamont Fire Department celebrates its 125th anniversary, it is looking ahead, welcoming a brand new engine — and the public — to a party at the firehouse on saturday afternoon.
