GUILDERLAND —Six  Guilderland High School students were selected to perform in the Area All-State Music Festival, which will be held on Nov. 18 and 19.

BETHLEHEM — Luke Dole of Delmar has been named to the 2016 State University College at New Paltz Men’s Soccer team.

Last season, the Hawks finished 10-8-1 (3-6 SUNYAC) but were on the outside looking in on the postseason. New Paltz finished 7-4-1 at home.

BETHLEHEM —  Joseph Giacone of Delmar is a member of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute football team. Giacone, a senior, has helped the Engineers to a strong start through the first two weeks of the season, including a win at Norwich University the first week.

SLINGERLANDS — Vito Mesiti of Slingerlands is a member of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute soccer team. The electrical engineering major has helped the Engineers to a strong start through the first two weeks of the season with the Engineers posting a 2-1-1 record.

ALTAMONT — Brenna Obrien of Altamont has been named to the 2016 State University of New York College at New Paltz Women's Cross-Country team.

The team is preparing to build on a seventh-place finish at the 2015 SUNYAC Championship meet.

 

The 15-year-old from Voorheesville is one of approximately 275 entrants to the “Oh, Say Can You Sing the National Anthem at the Great New York State Fair?” online competition.

These local students were among 31 from the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School inducted into the National Technical Honor Society with grade-point averages of 92 or greater at Career & Tech, an overall average of 85 or greater at their high schools, and fewer than six absences:

Chefs were on hand during national accreditation testing for the BOCES culinary students from across the Capital Region.
