Local students inducted into the National Technical Honor Society

These local students were among 31 from the Capital Region BOCES Career and Technical School inducted into the National Technical Honor Society with grade-point averages of 92 or greater at Career & Tech, an overall average of 85 or greater at their high schools, and fewer than six absences:

— From Berne-Knox-Westerlo: Samantha Flavell, studying cosmetology, and Jessica Rue, studying criminal justice;

— From Bethlehem: Louis A. Vendetti, studying Internet applications design;

— From Guilderland: William E Bedell, studying electrical trades; and

— From Voorheesville: Christopher Brumley, studying 3D print and green construction.

The National Technical Honor Society recognizes outstanding achievement at both the Capital Region Career and Technical School, where most students spend half their school day, and a student’s home high school. The Honor Society’s mission is to recognize student achievement and leadership, promote educational excellence and enhance career opportunities for career and technical students. Attributes of Honor Society members include skill, honesty, service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship, leadership and knowledge.
