Republican Peter Lopez is running unopposed to represent the 102nd Assembly District, which includes the Helderberg Hilltowns of Rensselaerville and Westerlo. The other two Hilltowns, Berne and Knox, are in the 111th District where Democratic incumbent Angelo Santabarbara is again being challenged by Republican Peter Vroman.

Calhoun, Jesse D. Calhoun

Democratic state Assemblywoman Patricia A. Fahy is running on her record in the 109th District. She is being challenged again by Jesse D. Calhoun, on the Republican and Conservative lines, who describes himself as typical of neither.

Joseph Boone, 49,  was appointed to occupy the seat of  Theodore Lounsbury who resigned from the board early this year.

The councilman who formed Unify Knox says he will sit out the November election.

Ken Saddlemire is not taking the reversal lying down. He intends to stay in the race as a write-in candidate.

Eric Kuck, who is enrolled as a Democrat, was appointed by the board last December. His name will remain on the ballot on the Unify Knox party line. 

On Tuesday, April 12, the Old Men of the Mountain met at the County Café on Main Street in Schoharie.

KNOX — After 22 years, Councilman Nicholas Viscio submitted his letter of resignation Monday in the period between voters casting their ballots and a slew of new members taking their seats.

He served nearly two years of his four-year term.

Former Supervisor Kenneth Runion retired on Nov. 23, before his term was up, because he sold his house and moved to Florida.

“I want to be fair and just,” Democrat Peter Barber said during his Election Night victory speech. “I want to get to know every town employee and as many residents as I can.”
