Supervisor Peter Barber and most of the other incumbents up for re-election to town posts in Guilderland are running again. Republicans have not yet decided who will challenge them.

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Democratic Committee is gearing up for the November elections and will be interviewing candidates who submit their names to a screening committee by May 1.

John Wemple, who chairs the screening committee, says he anticipates incumbents will be running.

GUILDERLAND — Long-time Democratic Committee Chairman David Bosworth changed the shape of politics in Guilderland, turning Democratic a town that had been controlled by the Republican Party and its forerunner for 150 years.

In Altamont, Kerry Dineen, submitted the sole petition for mayor. She will be the village’s first female mayor and will serve for four years.
