GALLUPVILLE — Joel Peter Landauer, a mechanic, technician, and councilman who enjoyed riding all-terrain vehicles and motorcycles, died on Saturday, Feb. 6, at Ellis Hospital. He was 60.

Mr. Landauer was born to Anthony Joseph Landauer and Shirley Elaine Landauer, née Schanz, on March 21, 1955, in Schenectady.

ALTAMONT — Kimberley A. Egloff, a woman with an infectious laugh, died on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, in Johnstown. She was 56.

Her only child, daughter Shannon Egloff, recalls her as a very open and welcoming person, and as a “great” mother, who “loved spending time with me and doing activities with me.”

GUILDERLAND — Barbara A. Coogan, a fun-loving woman who embraced her community, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015. She was 79.

A lifelong resident of Guilderland, Mrs. Coogan was the daughter of the late Neil D. and Anna M. Childs of McKownville.

GREENVILLE — David H. Elsbree, a “multi-talented man” according to his family, died on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, at his home among family and friends.

Mr. Elsbree was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to the late Esther (née Harby) and Hugh L. Elsbree. He grew up in Hanover, New Hampshire and Preston Hollow.

WESTERLO – Helen M. Hempstead, an international representative for a local company who was active in her sons’ lives, died on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, at her home. She was 72.

GUILDERLAND — Howard F. Jacobson, an engineer who was committed to religious service, died at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 77.

Mr. Jacobson was a 1955 graduate of Guilderland High School and a 1962 graduate of Union College. 

GUILDERLAND — Raymond H. Keys, a fireman and devoted husband, died peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at the Guilderland Center Nursing Home. He was 88.

Mr. Keys was born in Hebron, the son of the late George and Emma Weaver Keys.

BERNE — Vernon G. Schanz Jr., a farmer who loved the outdoors, died peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was 91.

Mr. Schanz was born in Berne on July 17, 1924, the son of the late Vernon and Mildred Josephine (née Proper) Schanz.

He graduated from the Berne-Knox-Westerlo schools in 1942.

ALTAMONT — Roberta Overbaugh Northrup, who was once an integral part of the Altamont Fair and a passionate country music singer, died on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at her home in Converse, Texas.

Mrs. Northrup, known as “Bobbi,” lived in Berne and Altamont for most of her life.

WESTMERE — Audrey F. Bentz, a woman who “never met a stranger,” according to her family, died  peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2015, with her daughters by her side. She was 89.

Mrs. Bentz was born in Schenectady on April 26, 1926, the daughter of the late Harry and Mabel R. (née Shaver) Fitzpatrick.
