GALLUPVILLE — Lloyd C. Wellman, a World War II veteran awarded for his humanitarian service, died Monday evening, Dec. 23, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany after declining health. He was 93.

ALTAMONT — Greta Radley was a kind woman who always wore a smile; she was the type of person, her daughter Bonnie said, who “could hold her own in a conversation, whether it was telling tales of her life growing up or talking about the goings-on of the day.”

She died on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019. She was 92.

ALTAMONT — George Willard Heath, also known as “Poppy,” was a loving father, cherished grandfather, and beloved great-grandfather. He died on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019. He was 77.

GUILDERLAND — Stanley Gemlick, a Guilderland native and decorated World War II veteran, died on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019. He was 101.

ALBANY — Walter L. Flewelling, a veteran of the United States Army Berlin Command, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at age 73.

He was born in Poughkeepsie on Jan. 3, 1946, a son of Marian and Gerald Flewelling. He moved to Delmar in 1957.

WRIGHT — Gerald Carl “Bud” Cross was a family man who served his community in many ways — as a volunteer firefighter, as a town councilman, as a scoutmaster, and as a trustee in his church.

EAST BERNE — Katherine H. Thompson, a mother who enjoyed helping both the young and old, died on Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at home. She was 84.

ALTAMONT — Jacqueline R. “Jackie” Warner was a woman of constancy.

BERNE — Ray M. Porter, a sportsman and devoted caretaker who lived in Berne, died on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019. He was 66. 

WESTERLO — Donald A. Lyon was “a very humble and selfless person who would identify a need in the Hilltowns and connect that need to people who had a burden to fill that need,” said his son, David Lyon.
