On Saturday, March 5, the Guilderland indoor track athletes took their talents to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championships at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.
On Friday, March 4, the Guilderville swim team — made up of boys from Guilderland and Voorheesville — competed in the preliminary round of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championships at Ithaca College. Guilderville finished 22nd overall out of 147 schools.
On Saturday, Feb. 26, the Guilderland Competitive cheer team, along with the other 26 Section 2 cheer teams, took part in sectional championships at Troy High School. Guilderland bested three other teams in the Large division 1 division.
This past weekend, Feb. 25, three local wrestlers from Guilderland, Berne-Knox-Westerlo, and Middleburgh sought to earn state championships in their weight classes.
On Friday, Feb. 18, the Guilderville boys swim team, made up of Guilderland and Voorheesville athletes, took to the pool at Shenendehowa Aquatic Center for the Section 2, Division 1 sectional championship.
On Saturday, Nov. 13, the Voorheesville Girls Cross-Country team competed in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s state competition at Chenango Valley State Park in Port Crane.
On Thursday, Oct. 28, Guilderland’s Katrina Setchenkov took her tennis skills to battle for a New York State title in Girls tennis (individual) at Sportstime in Schenectady.
Seven Guilderland athletes held their own on Saturday as they competed with the best track-and-field athletes across New York State in the state championships at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
Athletes from Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Guilderland took their talents to the state level this past weekend in wrestling, at Albany’s Times Union Center, on Friday and in gymnastics, at Cold Spring Harbor on Long Island on Saturday.
