COLONIE — Fresh off a Section 2 title, the Guilderland soccer team is nowhere near finished with its season. The Dutch have struck gold, and the players seem to be performing at a higher level each time they step on the field.

The Guilderland boys' soccer team is Class AA champions for the first time since 2008, putting four goals on the scoreboard against Albany. 

Opponents can't break the defense of the Guilderland girls' soccer team, which hasn't allowed a goal in seven games. Even an undefeated Shenendehowa squad couldn't score.   

Volleyball is the ultimate team sport, but sometimes a single player can shine in the spotlight.

The Guilderland football team is 4-0 for the first time since 2007, and with a steady balance of offense and defense, the Dutch are blazing a trail to the playoffs.

It was a beautiful day for golf at Western Turnpike Golf Course on Monday, and Guilderland scored low.

Guilderland started its football season in exciting fashion, coming from behind in the final minutes with two huge plays.

After making the playoffs in 2011 and 2012, the Dutchmen football team will not settle for another quarterfinal loss. 

Rebecca Gleason combines things she likes — such as teaching sports lit. The former English teacher and athlete has broadened her reach as a school administrator and in August will begin a new job as an assistant principal at Guilderland High School.
