Guilderland High School

The Guilderville boys’ swim team, made up of Guilderland Dutchmen and Voorheesville Blackbirds, hit the water against Albany High at Albany on Monday afternoon. Guilderville led from the opening with a convincing 102-to-62 win.

The Guilderland girls’ basketball team had a tough Suburban Council matchup against Shaker at home on Friday night. Guilderland put in the effort to stop the Blue Bison but the turnovers and missed shots hurt the Dutch in the 61-to-39 loss.

Guilderland, Voorheesville, and Berne-Knox-Westerlo varsity bowling teams bowled at Town ’n’ Country lanes in Guilderland last Thursday afternoon.

The Guilderland Dutchmen indoor track team competed at Union College Saturday morning to start the season. The Dutch raced away from the competition by winning both the girls’ and boys’ titles; the girls’ team had 140 points while the boys’ had 130.50.

On Monday afternoon, nine of Guilderland's top athlete's signed their college letter of intent to officially play collegiate sports next year.

“Almost, Maine” plays at Guilderland High School on Nov. 2, 3, and 4 at 7 p.m.

With sectionals right around the corner, the Guilderland girls’ field hockey and volleyball teams made a final push last week.

Volleyball teams for Guilderland boys, with a 2-6 record, and Berne-Knox-Westerlo girls, at 5-5, might be having rough seasons but they still play hard on the court as they push towards sectionals. This past week, both teams were victorious.

The Guilderland-Voorheesville girls’ swim team is already making big splashes. Even before sectionals, swimmers have qualified for state competition: two relay teams, two individual swimmers, and two divers. Guilderville swam against Saratoga at home on Wednesday afternoon, winning, 92 to 72.
