Last Wednesday, May 28, the Guilderland and Bethlehem track teams battled it out with the other Section 2, Group 1 schools at Colonie High School in hopes of hitting the super standard or being admitted to this week’s state qualifiers at Shenendehowa High School.
On Saturday, May 24, the sixth-seeded Guilderland baseball team finally kicked off their best of three Section 2, Class AAA semifinal, delayed due to rain, against second-seeded Colonie at Colonie High School.
On Monday, May 19, the Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team, the sixth-seed in Class A, opened up the Section 2 tournament against the third-seeded Niskayuna on a raw and windy afternoon at NIskayuna High School. The Dutch started off on the wrong foot as the Silver Warriors pounced early.
On Tuesday, May 13, the Guilderland Unified basketball squad hosted Mohonasen in its second-to-last regular-season game. Mohonasen stifled Guilderland most of the game until the last few minutes when the Dutch came alive to win, 31 to 30.
On Friday evening, May 9, the Guilderland flag football team hosted Colonie for Friends and Family Night at home on a cold and rainy evening. The Dutch couldn’t get much on the tight Wolfpack defense as they fell, 32 to 0.
Last Thursday, May 8, the Guilderland girls’ lacrosse team traveled to Saratoga High School as they took on the Blue Streaks in their senior night. The Dutch battled early but the Blue Streaks bombarded them as Guilderland fell, 15 to 1.
On Saturday, May 3, athletes from Guilderland, Bethlehem, and Voorheesville all competed at the 59th Harry Koch Colonie relays at Colonie High School. The Guilderland girls’ team won its second straight title with 156.33 points.
On Monday, April 28, the Guilderland softball team hosted Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake in a Suburban Council matchup. The Spartans’ pitching held the Dutch most of the game as the Dutch tried to rally but fell, 9 to 4.
On Tuesday, April 22, the Guilderland boys’ lacrosse traveled to Averill Park for a Suburban Council matchup against the Warriors. Guilderland used a big second half to sail away in an 18-to-5 victory.
