On Sunday, Nov. 3, the Guilderland field hockey attempted to win its back-to-back Section 2, Class A titles. Guilderland faced off against Saratoga, whom the Dutch played last year as well.

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, the second seeded Guilderland boys’ soccer team battled the sixth seeded Albany in the Section 2, Class AAA sectional semifinal at LaSalle Institute in Troy.

On Friday, Oct. 25, the Guilderland boys’ volleyball team took to the court as they hosted Niskayuna on Guilderland’s senior night. The teams went back and forth throughout the match but the Dutch pulled out three sets to one win; 25-17, 24-26, 25-11, 25-20.

Last Thursday, Oct. 24, the fourth-seeded Guilderland girls’ soccer team hosted the fifth-seeded Colonie in the Section 2, Class AAA quarterfinal matchup at Guilderland High School.

On Monday, Oct. 21, the Guilderland and Voorheesville girls tennis teams battled in the individual sectionals at Central Park to battle to be in the top three for the state competition.

On Friday, Oct. 18, the Guilderland football team celebrated their senior players and cheerleaders as they hosted Saratoga at home. Guilderland kept it close and attempted a late rally but it ended in a 28-to-19 loss to the Blue Streaks.

On Monday, Oct. 21, six Guilderland and three Voorheesville boys golfers compete at the Fairways of Halfmoon golf course as they battle for a spot on the state team. These golfers qualified after last weeks’ sectional play.

Last Wednesday and Friday, Oct. 16 and 18, six Guilderland, two Berne-Knox-Westerlo, and one Voorheesville girls competed in the Section 2 championships at Hiland Park Country Club in Queensbury for a spot on the state team.

On Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Guilderland Girls’ tennis team, the 2nd seed, opened up the Section 2, Class AA sectionals at Guilderland High School as they took on Emma Willard, the 6th seed. The Dutch sailed to a 8.5-to-0.5 win.

Last Wednesday, Oct. 2, the Guilderland Unified bocce team hosted the season and home opener at the Italian American Community Center against Albany. Both teams fought evenly till the end where the match had two roll-offs that saw Guilderland fall, 5 to 4.
