GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland Town Board voted unanimously Tuesday night to list for sale the town’s interest in the historic Doctor Crounse House, located at 759 Route 146, just outside of Altamont on the village’s Main Street.
ALTAMONT — Marijo Dougherty was a curator — a caretaker of art and of historic artifacts that she shared with others in ways that taught people about themselves. She was also a caretaker of people, caring for them personally and connecting them to each other in ways that moved projects forward.
Altamont residents Don and Donna Kelly’s donation of 30 acres of land to the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy links together Wolf Creek Falls Preserve in Knox with the rest of the Bozenkill Conservation Corridor.
The Crounse House is a Federal-style single-family home built by Frederick Crounse, Altamont’s first doctor, who practiced there on the village’s main street, now Route 146.
Under a program from National Grid, the villages of Altamont and Voorheesville as well as the town of New Scotland could see significant savings for street lighting.
