Art quilts displayed at library

To the Editor:

An art exhibit and sale by members of the Capital Region Textile Artists is being held in the Helderberg Room at the Guilderland Public Library from July 1 through July 31, during library hours. The exhibition is composed of art quilts.

All quilts in the show are fiber based; however, elaboration with beads, paper, fibers, metal, and other materials frequently enhance these pieces. Various of the works of art are free-hanging, mounted on canvas, or are framed. These works of art are of numerous styles, themes, color ways, and moods.

The seven artists included in the show are Helen Farnam of Troy; Barbara Quackenbush of Guilderland; Tina W. Raggio of Delmar; Mary Reich of Avila of Albany; Nancy Schlegel of Schodack; Lila Smith of Westerlo; and Sue Updike-Porter of Albany.

More information about the show may be obtained by contacting the organizer, Barbara Quackenbush at [email protected].
