There are currently 1,719 Democratic absentee ballots submitted for the Albany County Democratic primary. If more than 642 are in favor of Holly Trexler for County Court Judge, the race could go to her, even though Andra Ackerman currently has the lead according to the unofficial tally.

Sherri J. Brooks will be the first African-American woman to serve on the Albany County Family Court bench. 

Chief City Auditor Susan Rizzo will represent the Democratic Party this fall in the race for Albany County Comptroller, after she defeated Albany City Treasurer Darius Shahinfar in Tuesday’s primary. 

ALBANY COUNTY —  Flag football in Bethlehem and track and field in Voorheesville have been added this summer to the county’s free Amateur Athletic Union sports program.

Dylan Haugen from Slingerlands, who serves in the New York Army National Guard and is assigned to the Division Signal Company, 42nd Infantry Division received a promotion to the rank of specialist.

Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability, and development potential.

The Attorney General’s Office will conduct an Election Day Hotline during Tuesday’s primary elections throughout New York. The hotline will be available to troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered by voters at their poll sites.

The New York State Thruway Authority Board of Directors approved the selection of the Design-Build team that will install cashless tolling on the Thruway by the end of 2020.

The Democratic primary for county posts is often more important than the general election in November.

ALBANY COUNTY — Two Albany Family Court seats are open since Margaret Walsh was elected to State Supreme Court and Gerald Maney is retiring.

Seven candidates are running in the June 25 primary to secure the Democratic line.  Albany County Democrats may cast their ballots for two of the seven on Tuesday.
