Federal funding is up in the air

BERNE — While the town had once expected federal funding for replacement of the Kaehler Lane Bridge, Berne may end up having to foot the bill.

BERNE — In the wake of a failed budget, and with a new superintendent, the Berne-Knox-Westerlo School Board has stuck with its current president, and has hosted a community forum to guide its future.

BERNE — After more than a decade of disrepair, the Kaehler Lane Bridge is scheduled to be rebuilt within the month.

BERNE — Almost a year after starting the Long Road reconstruction, the town plans to complete the project next week, and awaits funding that will pay for nearly all of the remaining costs.

HILLTOWNS — Three organizations will be rotating Helderberg properties in the coming months.

BERNE — Members of the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Class of 2010 are set to take their first steps into the real world, among them a future journalist, biochemist, and internationalist.

Berne-Knox-Westerlo’s valedictorian, Michael Galgay, had heard these words from peers and parents, just before they’d asked him how he felt about high school ending.
