Town seeks a name for the Game Farm Road Project

To the Editor:

Berne’s Game Farm Road project is well underway.  The Berne Town Board requested candidates for positions to a project board that, together with the town board, will oversee the property’s development.

The town board completed interviews this week and was very impressed with the pool of experienced, highly skilled, and energetic candidates who applied for the positions. Now, the town board must select a board from this diverse and talented pool of candidates.

In the meantime, the Berne Town Board is inviting the public to help create an official name for what we now refer to as the Game Farm Road Project.  We are seeking a name that reflects the nature of the property — a source of quiet, peaceful reflection, recreation, and beauty.

The newly selected project board will review and discuss these suggestion; the members will choose one name they feel best represents the essence of the land, and present it to the town board for approval.

We would love to hear from you!  The Game Farm Road land belongs to the residents of Berne, and we want your ideas for its name.

Please email your suggestions to the town clerk at bernenyclerk@gmail.com; mail them to Anita Clayton, Berne Town Clerk, Post Office Box 52, Berne, NY 12023; or stop by Town Hall and give them to Anita by June 4, 2015.

And please, don’t hesitate to stop any one of the town board members and give them your ideas; we are all eager to hear them!
