Supervisor Sean Lyons said he decided town board liaisons are not necessary, and that department heads can simply communicate directly with the board.

RENSSELAERVILLE — A $10,000 grant to the town of Rensselaerville and the not-for-profit Carey Institute for Global Good is to help connect the rural Hilltowns with surrounding cities.

The Hilltown Seniors met on Saturday, Jan. 12, for their monthly meeting. What a joy it was to have 65 members venture out in the cold weather to enjoy each other’s company.

We are back! It’s obvious because the morning driving on Tuesday, Jan. 8, was miserable as usual for the Old Men of the Mountain to drag their butts to the restaurant for that week.

After hearing from its accounting firm last week, the Rensselaerville Town Board decided to cautiously continue using the firm after state police charged the supervisor last month with writing checks to himself.

An 18-year-old male was arrested at his home in East Berne Sunday night after a 17-year-old female called police Friday to report being groped.

A woman assaulted her partner and started to hit and choke his daughter when the daughter tried to get her father away.

Goals for the year include communication and technology.

KNOX — Marjorie Peterson, a hard-working woman with a fondness for things of the past, was giving and helpful to her large family and many friends. She died on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018. She was 88.

Organizational meetings in Rensselaerville and Westerlo and Rensselaerville included both resignations and appointments.
